Personally i think e85 is the best option to go with, it not only gives you the sufficent octane to run high amounts of. A lot of tuners donβt do that and just adjust injector data to make the e85 work Simply adding meth won't get you anything, you need to make other changes to take advantage of it
Water Injection vs. E85: Unleash Your Engine's Potential - cool
Mixing 40% methanol w pump e85
40% meth blended with e85 was.
Anyone have experience running e85 and water/meth Curious about the cooling aspect more than the power gains. Methanol is a much better fuel for high boost application due to the high octane rating coupled with a very high latent. Injector selection is one of the clearest points of divergence between e85 and methanol fuel systems
With the relative low price of high flow injectors and high flow/high pressure fuel pumps it's not as big a consideration. I personally drop a 93 gas tune into my ecu (via sct prp) during the winter months to avoid the hassles of e85 Water/meth works by lowering the combination (water) temps and at the same time increasing octane (methanol). I have not seen a complete list of pros and cons, so put one together myself
I attempted to list these in the order of.
Which is the better performance upgrade Discover the pros, cons, and differences. Here is a comparison of e85 vs water/methanol with the same total timing of 18 degrees We were surprised to see.
So just bought my 2015 sxt v6 type ive been putting in 91 octance but i realized the fuel cap says e85 in a big yellow. At very high boost levels e85/e98 can be problematic and you can quite possibly still end up with knock occurring. Trying to decide whether to make the switch to e85 or run water/meth. We drove a 2007 chevrolet tahoe from san diego to las vegas and back on gas and then on e85 ethanol to compare.
